Can I just buy your large or benchtop fence and assume it will fit my table?  No, in fact you need to either build your table around the fence assembly holes or you can drill new holes in the core to match the track dimensions on your table.  The aluminum core is soft enough to easily drill through, yet tough enough that two more holes will not matter.

Do I have to match brands?  Yes, if you want a woodpeckers table you have to buy a woodpeckers fence to make it fit properly.  A Benchdog fence will not line up on a woodpeckers table.

Are fences always perfectly straight? Not always, and nothing in woodworking really is "perfect"
